As Technical Support teams, DevOps Engineers, and customers rapidly adopted Ansible, the company lacked the expertise and training needed to support it effectively. At the time, Ansible was a small startup with no formal training or certification program, creating knowledge gaps that slowed customer adoption and increased support challenges.

I interviewed stakeholders across Technical Support, Customer Success, and Engineering to identify customer support trends, platform adoption patterns, and critical skill gaps. Based on those findings, I approached Ansible with a proposal to co-develop a training and certification program that would build our internal expertise while creating a commercial training offering for their customers. After securing the partnership, I assembled a cross-functional development team of Ansible subject matter experts, an instructional designer, a lab engineer, and a technical instructor, and completed a five-day content development sprint to build a three-tier learning pathway, Fundamentals, Operations, and Advanced, tailored for Go-to-Market teams, Technical Account Managers, and DevOps Engineers. The program included hands-on labs, real-world automation scenarios, and an industry-recognized certification exam. Following alpha and beta pilots, we launched the training globally, and I negotiated an enterprise agreement that granted unlimited internal training rights and discounted certification exam pricing in exchange for co-authoring the curriculum and certification exam.
The partnership transformed a critical skills gap into a scalable training and certification program that accelerated adoption and customer success.
